Nothing like the picture...

So my love and I decided to go out for lunch today.  This is nothing new since I go out most days being a working woman and such.  But I typically go for cheap (Subway, Barros, etc...)  Today we decided to splurge (as far as lunch goes) and hit El Pollo Loco.  My love ordered 2 grilled chicken breasts and a wing w/ 2 sides.  It was sooo good.  I, on the other hand, ordered the Carne Asada Burrito as there was a picture of it on their menu and it looked scrumptious and meat filled!  It always does though, doesn't it?  So the first bite didn't surprise me when there was no carne asada in it as there never really is in burritos. The first bite is always the folded over tortilla.  But as I hit my 3rd and 4th and even 5th bite with only 1 little chunk of carne asada I started wondering if that was how this whole experience would be.  Low and behold, that is EXACTLY how the whole experience was.  My burrito looked nothing like the picture.  I began taking my own pics to send to pollo loco and offer them as a TRUE real life rendition.  I couldn't believe I was seriously eating a $7 rice burrito with a FEW pinto beans, avocado and pico.  I joked to my love that I was going to start a food blog and start critiquing burritos (because this isn't an isolated incident) and needless to say this blog was born.  Right there during my lunch hour.  As I drove back to work, hungry and disappointed, I decided to start calling these places out on their false advertising and overpriced rice burritos.  So I tweeted @elpolloloco.  We shall see what comes of it.   In the meantime, next time your by an "el pollo loco" restaurant I encourage you to go in and look at their Carne Asada Burrito picture.  I guarantee it doesn't look anything like mine.
Since I eat a lot more than just burritos, I won't be posting on here every day.  But if any of you would like to send me suggestions on where to go next or even send me your own critiques (whether good or bad) w/ pictures I would love to post them for you!  Lets make these restaurants accountable.
con mucho hambre,
Juls

Look at the tiny trail of diced beef and all that other stuff around it. This doesn't deserve the title of "carne asada burrito"...would you agree?
It doesn't matter where my next bite would have been on this, I was destined for a "meatless" bite.  Seriously?  I think it was about 4 bites from here until I hit my next piece of meat!!  Do not advertise a Carne Asada Burrito and serve me this!!
